The UN-NGO Connection:
A Global Platform to Spread Hate and Promote Terror
2009
UN-accredited NGOs disseminate the hatred of Jews and the Jewish state. It is a message which is diametrically opposed to the purposes and principles of the United Nations. Here are their words.
Inciting Hate or Encouraging Anti-Semitism
The UN accredits and associates with NGOs that espouse anti-semitism. The anti-semitism takes various forms: demeaning remarks about Jews, abhorrence of the presence of Jews or so-called "Judaization", minimizing the Holocaust, claiming anti-semitism is feigned or grossly exaggerated, attempting to appropriate the language of Jew-hatred and apply anti-semitism to Arabs, denying that anti-zionism or the denial of the right of Jewish self-determination is a form of anti-semitism, equating Zionism with racism (see also Section II). One favorite of UN-accredited or associated NGOs is to highlight self-hating Jews or Jewish anti-semites, or to represent that this tiny minority are the only liberal and decent Jews. Here is a sampling of the commentary made by UN accredited NGOs.
- "The Judaization of Jerusalem is taking place day and night to get rid of Arabs inside it and to turn it into an entirely Israeli capital, while Israeli Arabs in occupied Palestinian territories face systematic plans to crush their resistance and to regularly liquidate them so as not to pose any source of worry for Zionist settlers...As for the Palestinians in the West Bank...their lands are usurped in a way that deals a deathblow to the two-state..."
(Excerpt from "Appeal to stop IOF [Israeli Occupation Forces] Holocaust in Gaza" in Arab Commission for Human Rights, January 3, 2009, Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC)
- "It is still mind-boggling to think that any Jewish woman fresh from the horrific experiences of the Holocaust could have contemplated setting up home amongst the still-warm belongings of a Palestinian family."
(Excerpt from "Palestinian Women and the Violence of Israel's Occupation" in Friends of Al-Aqsa, March 13, 2009, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)
- "I travelled about the land to explore its tearing process via the apartheid wall and hundreds of other fixed and portable barriers built in order to paralyze Palestinians' mobility, kill their ability to live and work, continuously threaten them with encroachment, and deprive them of feeling safe and secure in their own country. I saw the Judeazation of Jerusalem to become the capital of Israel rather than the promised Palestinian state. I saw how the settlements are spreading everywhere like spores inhabited by pervert vagabonds who came from everywhere around the world to occupy this land. They are given all the rights and privileges just because they are Jews, they sometimes claimed, at the expense of the rights of its original inhabitants...[T]he false claims of Hamas being responsible for ending the so-called truce as the reason behind the Gaza holocaust..."
(Excerpt from "Trying Israel for its Crimes" in Arab Commission for Human Rights, April 4, 2009, Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC)
- "Since the latest assault on Gaza, Judaization operations have escalated...Implementing plans...have recently been accelerated to turn Jerusalem into a Jewish city after emptying it of its Arabs residents by 2020."
(Excerpt from "Jerusalem...When it's too late" in Arab Commission for Human Rights, May 12, 2009, Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC)
- "Since the first day of occupation of Jerusalem in 1967, the occupying state started to...carry out ethnic cleansing...It is also the only country that makes religion and ideology a reason for driving people out of their land, replacing them with anyone claiming Judaism. As for the six million persons who were driven out of their country and are now refugees all over the world, there is no signed agreement that establishes their return to their homeland."
(Excerpt from "Jerusalem...When its too late" in Arab Commission for Human Rights, May 12, 2009, Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC)
The Demonization of Israel
The UN accredits and associates with NGOs that demonize or incite hatred of Israel. The demonization takes various forms: analogizing Israelis to Nazis, maintaining Zionism or the right of self-determination of the Jewish people is a form of racism, alleging Israel is guilty of the worst human rights violations known to humankind - racism/apartheid, genocide, and ethnic cleansing, claiming that Jews are conspiring to destroy Muslim holy sites. Here is a sampling of the commentary made by UN accredited NGOs.
- "This extreme violence is striking a trapped, imprisoned population. We are told that the population is warned before every attack, but people have nowhere to flee, nowhere to take refuge. In more than 40 years of work in conflict situations, MSF has rarely faced such levels of violence against civilian populations. Whether in Somalia, the DRC [Democratic Republic of the Congo], or even Darfur, none of those wars produced so many deaths in so little time. Our goal is not to establish a hierarchy of war horrors, but to denounce the cynical way in which Israel is carrying out its military offensive, with no respect for civilians."
(Excerpt from "The Bloodshed of Civilians Must End" in Doctors without Borders, January 16, 2009, Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC and associated with DPI)
- "There is no future for Israel despite all the sinful actions it has committed against the Palestinian people. For 60 years it has torn apart and occupied this land as well as tortured, killed, and expelled its people."
(Excerpt from "Trying Israel for its Crimes" in Arab Commission for Human Rights, April 4, 2009, Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC)
- "For Palestinian women to be denied even the right to safe childbirth and motherhood shows the depths to which Israel's perpetual war on the Palestinians has sunk, as Israel rushes to rid itself of the people whose very existence threatens its own."
(Excerpt from "Palestinian Women and the Violence of Israel's Occupation" in Friends of Al-Aqsa, March 13, 2009, Accredited by the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)
- "As the savage Zionist colonial enterprise intensified and the oppressed Palestinians found their situation simply intolerable, all their frustrations erupted in the First Intifada of 1987 and women were at the forefront of many of the demonstrations...The Israeli military retaliated by beating and killing them and hundreds of women were imprisoned in Israeli jails where they suffered humiliating violations, and rape."
(Excerpt from "Palestinian Women and the Violence of Israel's Occupation" in Friends of Al-Aqsa, March 13, 2009, Accredited by the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)
- "Israel is operating out of insatiable greed, which isn't restricted to Oslo agreement or other agreements...[T]he Palestinian Authority continues to hold talks and meetings with only meager results. This helps the Zionists to usurp lands, loot wealth and steal..."
(Excerpt from "Jerusalem...When its too late" in Arab Commission for Human Rights, May 12, 2009, Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC)
- "As Israel celebrates 61 years of independence and achievements, it must not be forgotten that its creation was based on settlement and colonisation of Palestinian land."
"With shrewd deliberation, Israel has openly implemented an aggressive policy of control, isolation and fragmentation of the land and people of the OPT. Piece by piece, decade by decade, large tracts of the OPT have been effectively annexed to Israel, amounting to the unlawful acquisition of territory by force"
(Excerpts 1 and 2 from "Annexation Creeps On: 61 years after the Nakba, Colonisation of Palestinian land continues" in Al-Haq, May 14, 2009), Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC)
- "The Israeli military's brutal repression....are testimony to a policy of forced population transfer and the ethnic cleansing of Jerusalem's Palestinian residents: violations of human rights which are so egregious that they amount to both war crimes and crimes against humanity."
(Excerpt from "COHRE & Stop the Wall- Rights Without Remedy" in Center on Housing Rights & Evictions (COHRE), July 9, 2009, Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC)
- "Palestinian women have regularly been attacked and assaulted by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank where they are often the only people at home during the day as their men folk are at work. The women and their children have been shoved, stoned and shot at or have had teargas canisters thrown into their homes while Israeli soldiers looked on and did nothing to stop the settlers"
(Excerpt from "Palestinian Women Suffer as Israel Violates CEDAW" in Third World Network", November 23, 2009, Accredited with Roster Status with ECOSOC and by the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)
Condoning or Justifying Violence
The UN accredits and associates with NGOs that condone or justify violence against Jews either inside or outside of Israel. The violent programmatic takes various forms: the reference to killers as martyrs, support for armed or violent struggle or resistance, and the effort to redirect attention away from the violence and justify it by focusing on alleged "causes" of terrorism. Here is a sampling of the commentary made by UN accredited NGOs.
- "Towards this inhumane and illegal situation in the full meaning of the word, what's required is a wake-up call for the sleeping conscience before it is too late. Plus armed resistance, there are many means to reject bargaining on rights and to resist the occupation, including main and necessary forms of civil disobedience...It is a collective responsibility towards these crimes that the Zionist entity commits in Palestine..."
(Excerpt from "Appeal to stop IOF [Israel Occupation Forces] Holocaust in Gaza" in Arab Commission for Human Rights, January 3, 2009, Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC)
- "Israeli propaganda says that their big military move is to protect its citizens from rocket attacks from Gaza. However, the actions of an occupied people in resistance mode cannot be put on par with the heightened aggression of an occupying force."
(Excerpt from "2008 ends with new Palestinian Plight" in Third World Network, December 29, 2009, Accredited with Roster Status with ECOSOC and by the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)
Delegitimization of the State of Israel
The incitement to hate, the demonization of Israel, and the support for violence has a goal: the destruction of the state of Israel. Sometimes this goal is camouflaged, but some UN accredited or associated NGOs are quite clear about their intentions. The UN, therefore, accredits and associates with NGOs that espouse the destruction of a UN member state. This call takes various forms: objections to the legitimacy of the creation of Israel, references not to Israel but to an entity called "Israel/Palestine," putting references to Israel in quotation marks, calling for a one-state solution, and boycott, divestment or sanction campaigns intending to destroy the economic viability of Israel and the international relationships necessary for Israel's survival as a Jewish state. Here is a sampling of the commentary made by UN accredited NGOs.
- "Arab regimes should- at least- impose political and economic sanctions on this entity which is heavily aided by West to deter the aggressor and to prevent it from maintaining its aggression. This includes severing diplomatic relations with it."
(Excerpt from "Appeal to stop IOF Holocaust in Gaza" in Arab Commission for Human Rights, January 3, 2009, Accredited with Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC )
