The UN-NGO Connection:
A Global Platform to Spread Hate and Promote Terror

2016

UN-accredited NGOs disseminate the hatred of Jews and the Jewish state. It is a message which is diametrically opposed to the purposes and principles of the United Nations. Here are their words.

Inciting Hate or Encouraging Anti-Semitism

The UN accredits and associates with NGOs that espouse anti-semitism. The anti-semitism takes various forms: demeaning remarks about Jews, abhorrence of the presence of Jews or so-called "Judaization", minimizing the Holocaust, claiming anti-semitism is feigned or grossly exaggerated, attempting to appropriate the language of Jew-hatred and apply anti-semitism to Arabs, denying that anti-zionism or the denial of the right of Jewish self-determination is a form of anti-semitism, equating Zionism with racism (see also Section II). One favorite of UN-accredited or associated NGOs is to highlight self-hating Jews or Jewish anti-semites, or to represent that this tiny minority are the only liberal and decent Jews. Here is a sampling of the commentary made by UN accredited NGOs.

  • "Pluto-Zionism is the three-way marriage of plutocracy, rightwing Zionism and US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, a serial war criminal, racist and servant of Wall Street. How did this deadly ménage-a-trois come about? The answer is that a stratospherically wealthy donor group, dedicated to promoting Israel's dominance in the Middle East and deepening US military intervention in the region, has secured Clinton's unconditional support for Tel Aviv's ambitions and, in exchange, Hilary receives scores of millions to finance her Democratic Party foot soldiers and voters for her campaign."

(Excerpt from "Pluto – Zionists Support for Hillary Clinton," Council for the National Interest Foundation, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "All of that outrage and personal ridicule is pro forma for an Israeli government that reflexively smears and denigrates any and all critics... Indeed, it is a global phenomenon. Wherever one goes – Western Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United States – there is a well-organized and funded lobby ready, willing and able to go to war to protect Israel."

The Demonization of Israel

The UN accredits and associates with NGOs that demonize or incite hatred of Israel. The demonization takes various forms: analogizing Israelis to Nazis, maintaining Zionism or the right of self-determination of the Jewish people is a form of racism, alleging Israel is guilty of the worst human rights violations known to humankind - racism/apartheid, genocide, ethnic cleansing, and claiming that Jews are conspiring to destroy Muslim holy sites. Here is a sampling of the commentary made by UN accredited NGOs.

  • "This denial has its roots in the Holocaust and in the unique circumstances created as a result of it, which allowed Israel to argue that, unlike any other state, it was obliged to deny Palestinian refugees their unequivocal right to return to their homes and lands, specifically to preserve the Jewish character of the state. This, the argument went, was the only way to maintain a safe haven for the world Jewry, the "super-victims," who are unsafe among the Gentiles... No other country on earth today can ever get away with a similarly overt, racist attitude about its right to ethnic purity..."

(Excerpt from "Relative Humanity: The Fundamental Obstacle to a Secular Democratic State Solution," BADIL, Accredited with Special Consultative Status by ECOSOC)

  • "It is shocking that this would have happened in Palestine within just a few years after the Nazi regime was defeated and all the prisoners including the large number of Jews in their concentration camps were freed...Gaza today is a concentration camp, no different than the past."

(Excerpt from "On Israel's little-known concentration and labor camps in 1948-1955," Al-Awda, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "Palestinians have been and remain victims of a determined and unwavering ethnic cleansing policy that began in 1947-48 and continues until today.

However, it is important that when we examine the subject of ethnic cleansing in Palestine, we take into account its various dimensions, one of which is the accompanying racist discourse, which has become part and parcel of Israel's ethnic cleansing policies. Any act of collective punishment - whether ethnic cleansing or genocide or any other - is often preceded and or adjoined by a racist discourse that dehumanizes the victim and justifies the crime on baseless grounds, a concoction of lies and fibs that may appeal to national or religious psyches, but fails the test of law, morality or basic human norms and expectations.

Without such discourse, which depicted the original inhabitants of Palestine as cancerous, subhuman and a nuisance in the face of civilization and progress - as defined by the founders of the Zionist movement - it would not have been possible to carry out a systematic campaign of murder and ethnic cleansing in 1947-48..."

(Excerpt from "Ethnic Cleansing and Israel's Racist Discourse," Women for Palestine - Australians for Palestine, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "The international community had given away what did not belong to them in order to salve their collective conscience for the Holocaust... Their creed was never again would their people be slaughtered even if Palestinians were to die to make that point..."

(Excerpt from "War crimes and criminals - some thoughts on Ariel Sharon," Islamic Human Rights Commission, Accredited with Special Consultative Status by ECOSOC)

  • "Machsom Watch has a history of publishing embarrassing photographs... and videos... echoed the indignity suffered by Jews at the hands of the Nazis."

(Excerpt from "Apartheid looks like this," Women for Palestine - Australians for Palestine, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "During an appearance in late October on Ireland's Pat Kenny radio show, a popular national program broadcast daily on Ireland's RTE Radio, we were asked as the opening question if Israel could be compared to Nazi Germany. Not across the board, we said, but there are certainly some aspects of Israel's policy toward the Palestinians that bear a clear resemblance to the Nazis' oppression.

Do you mean the wall, Kenny prompted, and we agreed, describing the ghettoization and other effects of this monstrosity. Before we could elaborate on other Nazi-like features of Israel's policies, Kenny moved on to another question...
We have long played with words about this, labeling Israel's policy "ethnocide," meaning the attempt to destroy the Palestinians as a people with a specific ethnic identity. Others who dance around the subject use terms like "politicide" or, a new invention, "sociocide," but neither of these terms implies the large-scale destruction of people and identity that is truly the Israeli objective. "Genocide" -- defined by the UN Convention as the intention "to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group" -- most aptly describes Israel's efforts, akin to the Nazis', to erase an entire people. (See William Cook's "The Rape of Palestine," CounterPunch, January 7/8, 2006 for a discussion of what constitutes genocide.) ...
Israel most likely does not care about how systematic its efforts at erasure are, or how rapidly they proceed, and in these ways it differs from the Nazis. There are no gas chambers; there is no overriding urgency. Gas chambers are not needed. A round of rockets on a residential housing complex in the middle of the night here, a few million cluster bomblets or phosphorous weapons there can, given time, easily meet the UN definition above. Children shot to death sitting in school classrooms here, families murdered while tilling their land there; agricultural land stripped and burned here, farmers cut off from their land there; little girls riddled with bullets here, infants beheaded by shell fire there; a little massacre here, a little starvation there; expulsion here, denial of entry and families torn apart there; dispossession is the name of the game.

With no functioning economy, dwindling food supplies, medical supply shortages, no way to move from one area to another, no access to a capital city, no easy access to education or medical care, no civil service salaries, the people will die, the nation will die without a single gas chamber. Or so the Israelis hope...
The young woman, Tove Johansson, was walking through an Israeli army checkpoint with several other volunteers when they were set upon by a group of approximately 100 settlers chanting, "We killed Jesus, we'll kill you too!"...
You can argue over terminology, but the truth is evident everywhere on the ground where Israel has extended its writ: Palestinians are unworthy, inferior to Jews, and in the name of the Jewish people, Israel has given itself the right to erase the Palestinian presence in Palestine -- in other words, to commit genocide by destroying "in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group."

As we debate about and analyze the Palestinian psyche, trying to determine if they have had enough and will surrender or will survive by resisting, it is important to remember that the Jewish people, despite unspeakable tragedy, emerged from the holocaust ultimately triumphant. Israel and its supporters should keep this in mind: empires never last, as Ahmad said, and gross injustice such as the Nazis and Israel have inflicted on innocent people cannot prevail for long."

(Excerpt from "Does It Matter What You Call It? Genocide or Erasure of Palestinians," Women for Palestine - Australians for Palestine, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "The record shows that Zionism and anti-Jewish feelings (anti-Semitism) had a symbiotic relationship. Victims of Zionist ideology were not limited to the Palestinians (the native inhabitants) but extended to Jews and many others. Sephardic Jews who were forced to flee their homes and rather comfortable lives in Arab countries as Israel pushed to undermine their presence in those countries and as anti-Jewish feelings increased due to the repression of the Palestinians by self-declared Jewish representatives. Even today, actions of the State of Israel do increase and certainly do not decrease threats or danger to Jews around the world. So even strictly judging from its own stated goals of providing normality and safety to Jews, Zionism has been a failure. But perhaps these stated goals were not truly genuine and that Zionism, likes o many other -isms, has been mainly about power and control. Declassified documents are shedding light on these things and raise very troubling questions.

These questions about relationship of Zionism to anti-Judaic feelings and Jewish reactions to it are all worth exploring. But the story with regard to the native Palestinian inhabitants is much simpler and much less controversial. In practice to fulfill the dreams of Zionist leaders, ethnic cleansing was and continues to be practiced. After taking 78% of the land from its native people and expelling over three fourths of them, Zionism still was not satisfied and Israeli leaders are aggressively and violently insisting on partitioning the remaining 22% (apartheid) while insisting on no return of Palestinian refugees and on maintaining racist laws that discriminate against non-Jews. The idea is to keep the Jewish character of the state."

  • "Israeli policy in the West Bank is a form of apartheid in intent and implementation. Ethnic-based, as opposed to race-based, it shares an important characteristic with the South African model... The West Bank has become a place of bantustans, isolated cantons, that divide and constrict, often illegally, historic Arab lands."

(Excerpt from "Of Walls and Bantustans: Apartheid By Any Other Name," Women for Palestine - Australians for Palestine, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "...Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories has many features of colonization. At the same time it has many of the worst characteristics of apartheid. The West Bank has been fragmented into three areas north (Jenin and Nablus), center (Ramallah) and south (Hebron) - which increasingly resemble the Bantustans of South Africa... Many aspects of Israel's occupation surpass those of the apartheid regime...No wall was ever built to separate blacks and whites."

(Excerpt from "Apartheid: Israelis adopt what South Africa dropped," Women for Palestine - Australians for Palestine, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "...Israel's genocidal policy against the Palestinians has been unremitting, extending from before the very foundation of the State of Israel in 1948, and is ongoing and even now intensifying against the 1.75 million Palestinians living in Gaza... Zionism's "final solution" to Israel's much-touted and racist "demographic threat" allegedly posed by the very existence of the Palestinians has always been genocide, whether slow-motion or in blood-thirsty spurts of violence. Indeed, the very essence of Zionism requires ethnic cleansing and acts of genocide against the Palestinians... Certainly, Israel and its predecessors-in-law-the Zionist agencies, forces, and terrorist gangs-have committed genocide against the Palestinian people that actually started on or about 1948 and has continued apace until today... Nevertheless, apologists for Israel have argued that since these mass atrocities are not tantamount to the Nazi Holocaust against the Jews, therefore they do not qualify as "genocide."

Condoning or Justifying Violence

The UN accredits and associates with NGOs that condone or justify violence against Jews either inside or outside of Israel. The violent programmatic takes various forms: the reference to killers as martyrs, support for armed or violent struggle or resistance, and the effort to redirect attention away from the violence and justify it by focusing on alleged "causes" of terrorism. Here is a sampling of the commentary made by UN accredited NGOs.

Delegitimization of the State of Israel

The incitement to hate, the demonization of Israel, and the support for violence has a goal: the destruction of the state of Israel. Sometimes this goal is camouflaged, but some UN accredited or associated NGOs are quite clear about their intentions. The UN, therefore, accredits and associates with NGOs that espouse the destruction of a UN member state. This call takes various forms: objections to the legitimacy of the creation of Israel, references not to Israel but to an entity called "Israel/Palestine," putting references to Israel in quotation marks, calling for a one-state solution, and boycott, divestment or sanction campaigns intending to destroy the economic viability of Israel and the international relationships necessary for Israel's survival as a Jewish state. Here is a sampling of the commentary made by UN accredited NGOs.

  • "The land Israel took through terror and war in 1948... When the true heirs of the land, those who are native in every sense – historically, culturally, legally, genetically – recognise Israel as a Jewish state, they are effectively giving away their claims to their own homeland."

(Excerpt from "ABULHAWA: Of negotiations and high treason – Israel-Palestine 'peace'," Australians for Palestine, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "Subjecting Palestinian Arabs to ethnic cleansing was an integral part of the implicit and explicit political Zionist thought and parlance all along."

(Excerpt from "The Zionist Project in Palestine: Colonial Settlement, Land Robbery and Ethnic Cleansing," Al-Awda, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "Present-day Israel is simply known as "48" to Palestinians within it; "48" refers to 1948, the year Israel was established amid the Nakba, the forced displacement of approximately 750,000 Palestinians."

(Excerpt from "Braving threats, Palestinians in Israel revive boycott," Friends of Al-Aqsa, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "What is JVP's position on BDS?
The boycott/divestment/sanctions movement (BDS) encompasses a variety of tactics and targets. JVP rejects the assertion that BDS is inherently anti-Semitic...JVP defends activists' right to use the full range of BDS tactics..."

(Excerpt from "Jewish Voice for Peace and BDS," Jewish Voice for Peace, Accredited by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "...We are proud of the struggle and resilience of the Palestinian people who continue to make great sacrifices, 65 years after the Nakba, against occupation and oppression for their dignity freedom and self-determination.
We express our deep concern over the Israeli aggression on Jerusalem and its indigenous Palestinian residents, especially in the light of growing deportation. We warn against the systematic discrimination against Jerusalemites which sees them besieging in their residential areas by settlements and the apartheid wall. We also warn against the assault on historical Muslim and Christian sites in Jerusalem.... The conference stresses historical responsibility of Europe for the Palestinian Nakba and displacement of 1948. Generations of Palestinian people are still paying the price of Europe's mistake and still Europe continues to assist in the expansion of the state of Israel and its illegal policies. We announce our full support for the International Campaign demanding an apology from Britain for the Balfour declaration which marks the beginning of Palestinian suffering."

(Excerpt from "The Final Statement of the 11th Palestinians in Europe Conference – Brussels," Liberation, Accredited with Roster Status with ECOSOC and by UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People)

  • "...We therefore make the following recommendations:
...The EU must: Introduce an EU-wide ban on trade with Israeli settlements.

    While settlement imports continue:
    • There should be a legally enforceable requirement to mark the origin of all goods (including manufactured goods) originating in Israel, the settlements and occupied Palestinian territory.
    • The EU should revise the technical arrangement for customs with Israel, to introduce a more robust customs regime for settlements products, where the burden of proof for identifying settlement products is placed on the exporting country, Israel.
    • Official EU trade figures should differentiate between trade with the EU and Israel (within its recognised 1967 borders), and trade with the EU and the settlements.

For the Irish and UK governments:
    • The Irish and UK governments should push within the EU for the introduction of an EU-wide trade ban on settlement produce.
    • The Irish and UK governments should demonstrate leadership by implementing individual member state bans on settlement produce.

    For retailers operating in Ireland:
    • Retailers should cease stocking goods from Israeli settlements.
    • Retailers should cease trading with any Israeli suppliers which source products from Israeli settlements..."
